Un weekend a Parigi con Longines per i Gucci Paris Masters.

La mia città dei sogni e il brand di orologeria che preferisco per un weekend dove eleganza e stile hanno fatto da padroni.

In occasione dei Gucci Paris Masters 2014, dove Longines è stato partener e offical Timekeeper, sono stata loro ospite per assistere al magico spettacolo equestre.

Una due giorni super emozionante, in una location d’eccezione dove abbiamo potuto goderci lo spettacolo sorseggiando champagne e gustando i prelibati piatti cucinati da chef con due stelle Michelin proprio durante la competizione.

Doda de Miranda on AD Nouvelle Europe Z è stato il vincitore dei Longines Speed Challenge al Gucci Paris Masters 2014. I primi tre classificati sono stati premiati con eleganti orologi Longines da Mr. Juan-Carlos Capelli, Vice Presidente di Longines and Head of International Marketing. Dopo il successo di Longines Hong Kong Masters e di Longines Los Angeles Masters, Longines è orgoglioso di essere partner ufficiale e timekeeper di Gucci Paris Masters.

Il legame di Longines con il mondo equestre é lungo e ben consolidato, ed è l’origine della collezione Conques Classic che nasce proprio come omaggio a questa storica passione della brand. Tra gli Ambassador d’Eleganza Longines c’è anche l’amazzone Jane Richard Philips, che avevo avuto l’opportunità di conoscere a Torino (qui il post), che incarna perfettamente i valori della Maison Svizzera, tra i protagonisti dei Gucci Paris Masters.

“La passione di Longines per gli sport equestri risale al 1878, quando la maison d’orologeria Svizzera decise di produrre un cronografo con l’incisione di un fantino a cavallo. Visto sulle piste fin dal 1881, estremamente popolare tra i fantini e gli appassionati di cavalli, questo modello permise di calcolare i risultati al secondo. Già nel 1886 fu infatti utilizzato dalla maggior parte dei giudici sportivi di New York.  Il marchio dalla clessidra alata fu altresì protagonista nel 1926 per la prima volta al Concorso Ippico Internazionale di Ginevra come cronometrista ufficiale. Oggi l’impegno di Longines negli sport equestri comprende concorsi ippici, corse in piano e gare di resistenza.”

L’orologio ufficiale di questo evento è stato infatti il Conquest Classic in acciaio e oro rosa, con diamanti sul quadrante e sulla lunetta, che potete vedere nelle foto in basso.

Insomma, cosa dire, un ‘esperienza unica. Un grazie a Longines che mi ha permesso di conoscere questo mondo così affascinante, che mi sta appassionando sempre più.

My city of dreams and the brand of watches that I prefer for a weekend where elegance and style were the masters.

On the occasion of the Gucci Paris Masters 2014, where Longines was partener and offical Timekeeper, I was their guest to witness the magical horse show.

A two-day super exciting, in an exceptional location where we could enjoy the show while sipping champagne and enjoying the delicious dishes cooked by chef with two Michelin stars during competition.

Doda de Miranda on AD Nouvelle Europe Z won the Longines Speed Challenge at the Gucci Paris Masters 2014. The winner as well as the second, Christian Ahlmann, and the third, Roger-Yves Bost, were presented with elegant Longines watches by Mr. Juan-Carlos Capelli, Vice President of Longines and Head of International Marketing. Building on the success of both the Longines Hong Kong Masters and the Longines Los Angeles Masters, Longines is proud to be associated with the Gucci Paris Masters as its Official Partner and Timekeeper.

The binding of Longines with the equestrian world is long and well-established, and is the origin of the collection Conques Classic which starts as a tribute to this historic brand of passion. Among the Longines Ambassador of Elegance is also the rider Jane Richard Philips, that I had had the opportunity to meet in Turin (post here), which embodies the values of the House of Switzerland, one of the protagonists of the Gucci Paris Masters .

“The passion of Longines for equestrian sports dates back to 1878, when the Swiss watchmaking house decided to produce a chronograph with the engraving of a jockey riding. Seen on the slopes since 1881, extremely popular among the jockeys and horse lovers, this model allowed him to calculate the results to the second. Already in 1886 was in fact used by the majority of the judges of New York sports. The brand from the winged hourglass was also starring in 1926 for the first time at the International Horse Show in Geneva as official timekeeper. The official watch of this event was in fact the Conquest Classic in steel and rose gold, with diamonds on the dial and bezel, which you can see in the photo below.

Well, what to say, a unique experience. Thanks to Longines that allowed me to learn about this world so fascinating.
